HELP support Global Energy Network Institute (GENI) raise $10,000
by donating to the giveBIG San Diego event! 

On Wednesday, December 14 at 7 AM PST through Thursday, December 15 at 7 PM PST, GENI will be a part of giveBIG San Diego, a program developed by The San Diego Foundation in conjunction with the BetterGiving organization.  During these 36 hours, the giveBIG event will be collecting donations that will be partially matched (up to $10,000 per gift) by The San Diego Foundation.  Donations will assist GENI in upgrading communication systems in order to improve our national report of 100% renewable energy.  Though you may choose to donate to GENI at any time, funds will only be matched during the giveBIG event.

  • Minimum gift: $25
  • Maximum gift: $10,000 for match funds.

What is giveBIG?

giveBIG is an online networking and giving event that provides nonprofits the opportunity to gain exposure to and start relationships with new donors, and for people in the San Diego region to come together to raise as much money as possible for local nonprofits within a 36-hour period. The online event will take place from 7 AM Wednesday, Dec.14 - 7 PM Thursday, December 15. The San Diego Foundation has committed an initial monetary pool to be used to incentivize donations via BetterGiving during this period.

 

How does it work?

Any individual or business may donate. All donations must be made via debit or credit card through the giveBIG website. No gifts from checks, cash or stock will be accepted for this giving event.

 

*NOTE: If you have a fund at the Foundation, you will be eligible to make a grant from it that will be recorded and eligible for match finding during the giveBIG event.  All donations are tax deductible and irrevocable (donations will not be refunded) and will be for the unrestricted use of your chosen charity. Therefore, your credit card statement will read: (XXX charity) via BetterGivingSD.org/TSDF.
