Our title – Butterflies Taking Flight – signifies that we’re all transforming into powerful agents of change. We often feel we can do nothing to stop the climate crisis. But together, it is possible! This event is meant to empower youth voices and show you all that your voice matters. Join us, as we tackle diverse topics like environmental justice and participate in interactive discussions and activities. 

Attendees will: 

• Hear from youth activists, community organizers, and our keynote speaker on environmental justice in San Diego
• Participate in workshops about Immigration x Climate, Organizing, Climate Policy, Environmental Careers, and Sustainable Food Systems
• Build community with like-minded youth in group activities
• Learn how to create impactful change! 

We welcome people of all ages to join us, with our target audience being 7th-12th graders! This is a super fun event that is not just educational, but also interactive and social. Meet other San Diego youth who care about the environment and get involved in climate action! For students, we also offer community service and many partnering teachers give extra credit for their class.
